A Note From the Principal:
Happy Friday! Enjoy the three day weekend. Thank you for your flexibility and positivity regarding today's events.
As we head into the weekend, take a moment to think about Martin Luther King, Jr. and the difference he made. One of the major reasons that he was such an inspirational leader and activist was the way that he connected with people. He fought injustice with tolerance, love and positivity and worked to ensure dignity and equality for everyone.
It is so important for us to connect with and advocate for the students and families who need support. While we still have a long way to go in our country regarding race, it is not the only characteristic that creates the need for tolerance, equality and help. Our students who learn differently, behave differently, have different situations at home; they all need our support. When it is hard is when it is the most important. Just like MLK fought hate with love, we need to keep pushing ourselves to address every situation with respect, grace and above all, love. When we are frustrated, think of a sarcastic response to a situation or feel the desire to raise our voices, that is the most important time to follow the lessons of Martin Luther King.
Let's keep working to change lives. Thanks for all that you do. Have a great weekend.
Sincerely,
Chris
