The Manning Weekly Newsletter
FINAL EDITION - May 28, 2021
Manning Community,
We celebrated all of our students on Wednesday afternoon with certificates and otter pops on the football field. Our students had an awesome time connecting with their friends, getting their yearbooks signed, and just breathing a huge sigh of relief to be done with another school year! Of course, our 8th grade students got their continuation certificates, but we also gave each of our 6th and 7th students a "Courage and Kindness" certificate. To celebrate their efforts and grades, students got a silver emblem attached to this certificate for earning a cumulative gpa of 3.5-3.99 OR a gold emblem if they had a 4.0 cumulative gpa.
In addition, our 8th graders were celebrated on Thursday with their 8th grade picnic (thank you PTA!!) and their virtual continuation ceremony. I want to thank Ms. Shawna Mendez for directing this production, along with her supporting cast; Mr. Hughes, Mr. Crawford, Ms. McLeod, Ms. Norton, Ms. Keodonexay, Mr. Hovinen, and Ms. Heesacker. It was a great ceremony and I'm just so proud of Manning's 2021 continuing class!
Finally, just a reminder that starting Tuesday, June 1st, our office will be closed for the summer as construction will begin in our office to build a secure front entryway. As we will not be in the office to answer the phones, please reach out via email. If you have any questions about the start to next year, please feel free to reach out to me at Christian.Ramaker@jeffco.k12.co.us and I will be more than happy to help!
In the spirit of the year we all experienced, I will leave you with a final quote for the 2020-2021 school year:
"Success is no accident. It is hard work, perseverance, learning, studying, sacrifice, and most of all, love of what you are doing or learning to do." -Pele
We were successful this year, and for that, we should be proud! Have a wonderful summer, stay safe, and we look forward to welcoming our students back in August.
Stronger Together,
Christian Ramaker
Transcripts, Grades and Schedules...oh my!
Hello Manning Families-
We want to thank you for a crazy year that has only made us stronger as a community.
- Teachers have until Friday, 5/28 @ 3pm to post their grades to their gradebooks
- Transcripts will have grades posted to them on Tuesday 6/1
- Grades and transcripts will be viewable on the parent portal on 6/2. Please remember to print your student's transcript before June 30 when the school year rolls over and you lose access to this feature.
To clarify on grade reports for Q4; the grade that is in the "Term Final" grade may not match the percentage for Q4. Due to our changes at Spring Break, where we gave all students a fresh start, we created another grade box called "Term" for Q4 to post final grades in that box. "Term Final" will reflect the grade from Q4, but the percentage may not match.
Not having matching percentages will not affect transcripts or standing; only letter grades show on transcripts.
- Schedules for 21-22 will be available for viewing on the parent portal on 6/2. Schedule change requests will be available in the fall. Our apologies for the delay, we had a snag with the transition of schedules this spring, so they release for incoming students was delayed. You use your Jeffco Connect log in to access the parent portal.
Our Nature Writing Class would like to share their hard work with you!
As we break for summer,
Dear families,
As we prepare for summer vacation, I want to remind
you and the students that Safe2Tell, a successful
violence intervention and prevention program for
students to anonymously report threats to their and
others’ safety, is available 27/7 at 1-877-542-7233, at
Safe2Tell.org, or through the Safe2Tell mobile app. That
means Safe2Tell is available this summer!
Suggestions to remind students about Safe2Tell:
 Don’t forget to remind your student(s) that it is courageous to ask for help on behalf of
yourself or someone else.
ï‚· After submitting a report, a Safe2Tell dispatcher will always respond with their name
and ask follow-up questions. Please wait and engage in a conversation with Safe2Tell.
ï‚· Students can submit life safety tips about friends at other schools, other states, or even
life safety information posted by strangers online.
As a reminder for you about Safe2Tell:
ï‚· If you and/or your child(ren) have a mobile device,
add the Safe2Tell app to it.
ï‚· Safe2Tell is not an emergency response unit nor
mental health counseling service provider; it is a
conduit for distributing anonymous tips to local law
enforcement and school officials according to state
law.
