What is fairtrade?

Fairtrade is a trading partnership, which seeks greater equality. They create a more sustainable tarding workplace, by making offering a better trade condition for that worker. Also they believe that the workers should get more for what they do. Normally they get 3p for a batch of banana's but with fairtrade they could get something like £1.

Cadbury's choclate bar proudly holds the fairtrade symbol however like most companies nowadays has become unethical. It is still fairly ethical as they have created a sustainable worksplace and has given there employee's more money for their work.

Becoming Fairtrade has achieved:
• Helped 55,000 member farmers in Ghana take part in farmer training
• They have also received equipment to help increase their productivity
• Mobile health checks in 100 communities have taken place
• Community projects with a focus on water and sanitation have been implemented

These projects have helped the volume of cocoa sold under Fairtrade terms in the country – and the investment was possible as a result of consumers choosing Fairtrade Certified Cadbury Dairy Milk milk chocolate.
