Odyssey 19-20

Chapter 19: Odysseus the beggar tells Penelope that Odysseus will be home soon. She also tells the beggar about her weaving trick & how she tricked the suitors and said she wouldn't marry until her weaving was complete but tricked them by unraveling it every night. Odysseus can tell Penelope is sad & passes the test. Eurycleia later washes his feet & recognizes him but Odysseus asked her not to tell Penelope. Penelope has a dream & the beggar interprets it to mean that Odysseus is back & will slay the suitors. Penelope dreams up a test for the suitors to see who can shoot an arrow threw the head of 12 axes knowing only Odysseus will b able to do it.



Chapter 20: Odysseus is worried about the arrow test & is upset about the maids who were sleeping with the suitors. Penelope has a dream has a dream that Odysseus will return but doesn't believe it & would rather die then marry a suitor. Odysseus has a vision of the hall filled with blood but the suitors laugh & don't believe it.
