5th Grade Band News

Last newsletter of the year!

It was a great year for the 5th Grade Band!

Once again, thank you so much to all the 5th grade band members for their hard work this year. It was great to work with you and I am so excited to see what you can do as 6th graders next year!

Parents - thank you so much for your encouragement and support at home! This could not be done without you!

I hope you all have a wonderful summer and I can't wait to see you again in August!

Upcoming 5th Grade Band Events:

Wednesday, May 25 - Nelson Ridge Band/Orchestra Pizza Party

Please come down to Room 201 (sectional room) at the start of lunch/recess at about 12:10.

Each student will be provided with up to 3 pieces of Chicago Dough pizza cut into triangles. Plates and napkins are provided. Please bring your own drink and anything else that you would like to eat!

Have an awesome summer and don't forget to practice!

Summer Band!

If you did not turn in your summer band camp form, don't worry! I have attached another copy to this email. Fill it out, scan, and email it back to me if possible. Or just email me the info on the sheet, so I can count on your child to be there!

Also, please check the email attachments. Each child received this paper at school from their classroom teacher. Please encourage your child to practice the exercises and songs listed on this paper over the summer. If each band member practices these a little over summer vacation, then we will be in GREAT shape when school starts up again!

Private Lessons: A great way to keep your child practicing and into music over the summer!

Please consider enrolling your child in private lessons over the summer! Call a teacher today to get into their summer lesson schedule!

Private lessons are the key to developing an outstanding musical organization. Students who study their instruments privately with a professional show rapid improvement in individual musicianship. As these students improve, their excitement towards practicing increases, they continue to improve, and they become a stronger contributor to the overall success of the band. Private instruction has a great impact on the individual student and on our band program both this year and in the future. Mrs. Clark will assist you, if needed, in selecting a private instructor. The key to satisfactory results from private instruction is to start as soon as possible.... SO START NOW!

Please call one of our very qualified private lesson teachers to set up your weekly lesson.
