Los Proyectos Finales y su éxito..
un guía a preparar los proyectos finales
Instrucciones/Instructions
- LEER las instrucciones completamente! Remember niños that taking a large project and breaking it down so that you understand WHAT you have to do is the first and most important step!
- TRADUCIR... if you don´t understand all of the instructions based on their Spanish language presentation, it´s ¨honest¨ cheating if you translate the text so you know your task!
- NO LEER lo que acabas de escribir. You are not "narrating" your project! I can read what you just wrote ;-)
- CHEQUEAR tus settings!! Be sure that if you use google slides that your settings are open and I can access your work!
- HOJEAR la rúbrica: check the rubric, do you realize that citation and including an oral piece are not just suggestions but requirements?? See the rubric attached here...
ORGANIZACIÓN ... la clave!
- ORGANIZAR ANTES de la noche anterior! You should ideally be taking notes and organizing your ideas during the first unit of study (ie: unit 5 of the unit 5/6 project) so that you are not trying to make a huge project on Thursday night :)
- ESCRIBIR un perfil (write an outline)... you can NOT create a project in one sit·down, you need to ¨piece it out¨and complete in small portions!
- DECIDIR en cuáles partes vas a hablar: you must have a spoken piece, it may NOT be the same as the text on the screen, it MAY be dialogue or narrative. Decide ahead of time where and how you want to incorporate the speaking.
- VOCABULARIO: a good rule of thumb is to work to incorporate or ´fold in´at least 40% new vocabulary learned from both chapters.
- GRAMÄTICA: ALL grammar needs to be evidenced sufficiently so that your evaluator (me :) can see your growth.
A CONCLUIR
- MOSTRARME tu talento! Remember that projects should feel like portfolios, you should show me your GROWTH, both in expression and structure. Don't do "safe" sentences, take risks!
- RECORDAR that some of the best writing is not so complicated but clear and concise (to the point).... keep in mind that you do need to practice the structures learned in the unit still.
- PROBAR, es decir, proofread.. you would be surprised how many ¨I knew that!¨kind of mistakes you can catch before turning in... what do I mean?¿? .. Adjective agreement, subject/verb agreement, gender (check a dictionary!), ser v. estar, etc.
- PEDIR ayuda del PTC! Ask a peer tutor from the PTC to see if they wouldn´t mind reviewing your work before you submit! That´s why they are there...
- ELEGIR carefully! Pick a topic that interests YOU... if YOU enjoy it, YOU will bring interesting and fun facts to it which means YOU will do better and I will love your work! :)
