Take the School Environment Survey and 5Essentials Survey!
District 58 invites parents to take two anonymous surveys: the District’s Parent School Environment Survey and the State’s Parent 5Essentials Survey.
The School Environment Survey measures parent satisfaction with their child’s school experience, and the 5Essentials Survey gathers data related to five indicators that can predict important student outcomes. District 58 schools will receive a 5Essentials parent survey report if more than 20% of parents complete the survey.
Take the School Environment Survey here by Friday, Dec. 20, 2019.
Take the Parent 5Essentials Survey here by Friday, Feb. 14, 2020.
The District will also administer the State’s 5Essentials Survey to staff and fourth-through-eighth grade students between Dec. 10, 2019 and Feb. 14, 2020. These surveys are also anonymous, and the survey results will become a part of District 58’s 2020 Illinois Report Card. Learn more at www.dg58.org/surveys.

Holiday Service Project
Wow! What an amazing act of kindness this week with Student Council & PTA's first ever Stocking Stuffing Event for Sharing Connections.
Student Council and PTA were overwhelmed by the kindness and generosity of the community for all of the donations that were received! Because of these donations, they were able to fill their goal of 145 stockings!!! What an amazing accomplishment!!
None of this would have been possible without the parents and students who also showed up on Tuesday night to help fill the stockings! Again, a huge act of kindness to help others and give back to the community! Additionally, the stockings were delivered to Sharing Connections Tuesday night due to the wonderful parents who opened up their cars to drop off all of our stockings, and encourage our students to see how beneficial helping others can be! From the bottom of our hearts, thank you, thank you, THANK YOU!!!!
In addition to all the kindness that was shown that evening, and leading up to it, word traveled about the good things that were happening at Henry Puffer School all the way to Indiana! Dr. Chuck Dietzen, a pediatric rehabilitation doctor, wanted to help Henry Puffer spread kindness and gave a large donation to our student council. This will be put towards doing more kind acts! Full hearts all around!

Science Fair
The date of the district science fair will be Saturday, January 25th.
Drop-Off/Safety Reminders
Please also refrain from dropping students off directly on Belmont. This is a very busy street, and we do not want to create situations where cars are slowing down and stopping on Belmont. If you would like to drop off on the Belmont side, you will need to park and walk students up, or drive up through the Belmont parking lot and have students cross with the staff member and safety patrol.
