Time: 8:30am-5:00pm
Lunch: 1/2 hour on your own (bring your lunch)
Location: Ohio Northern University, McIntosh Center, 402 West College, Ada, OH 45810
Target Audience: SLPs, Classroom Teachers of students with hearing impairments, Preschool Teachers, Educational Audiologists, Reading Specialists, Instructional Assistants, Sign Language Interpreters, etc...
Overview: Visual Phonics is a system of 52 hand cues and symbols that represent the sounds of English. Included are the sounds commonly referred to as vowels, consonants, diphthongs, and digraphs. It is a visual and kinesthetic way for students to learn, decide and/or articulate sounds. During the ONE-day training you will learn how to use Visual Phonics in your classroom.

Weather Contingency Policy: Unless Ohio Northern University (ONU) closes (regardless of delays or closure of Ada Schools or any other district), participants should plan to arrive unless they receive a formal “CLOSURE / CANCELLATION” email from the Midwest Regional ESC on the morning of the event.
Space is Limited to 15 Participants:- Once the ESC receives fifteen (15) paid registrations (by credit card or POs), all subsequent registrants will be placed on a waiting list. You will receive an email within seven (7) days of your registration confirming whether you have been accepted for the 2/7 training OR placed on the waiting list.
Registration Fees:
- $85 for Hardin, Shelby, Logan, Madison, and Champaign County Public School Districts, Boards of DD, & Career Centers.
- $135 for school districts outside of the above counties or other agencies/non-profits.
- Space is limited to the first 15 registrants.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION & REMINDERS
What time should I arrive at the training site? Please arrive 15 minutes early to complete the check-in process.
Food & Beverage: Water and a muffin will be available at the beginning of each session. While coffee or other food will not be served, participants are free to bring snack items for themselves or to share with the group. Please BRING YOUR OWN LUNCH as we will have a working 30 minute lunch. Please plan accordingly…..
What You Should Bring? Participants should bring note taking materials and writing utensils with them to the session.

Our Cancellation Policy - Due to the costs associated with this event, cancellations must be received 15 days prior to the event. Cancellations received outside of this policy will not be accepted. Attendees and/or employing districts will be billed accordingly.
