RMS Wildcat Weekly
February 19th, 2021 Information for our Families
Greetings Wildcat Families!
Happy Friday!
We had a short but busy week, and we have quite a few events next week as well, including an RMS Virtual Wildcat Welcome Tour for new Wildcats and an ASB Movie Night. Many of our students had the opportunity to either watch or learn about the NASA Perseverance Rover successfully landing on Mars yesterday, which serves as an exciting reminder for our students of what we can accomplish through collaboration, hard work, and perseverance!
As many of you know if you saw the last Community Update from Dr. Doyle, we are bringing Classic students back to campus the week of March 1st in smaller groups. Classic students will have one day of in-person instruction according to the model adopted by the board. We will be sharing details for this schedule on Monday, February 22nd, along with the alpha breakdown for groups, so that Classic students will know if they will be assigned either Tuesday or Wednesday for their on-campus day. We are excited to see our Wildcats coming back to campus!
Thank you to all of our Wildcats who submitted videos for our Virtual Wildcats Got Talent! The link is below. And thank you to our RMS ASB and ASES Program for hosting the show! We hope you enjoy the creativity and talent of our students and staff!
Thank you, and have a wonderful weekend!
Sincerely,
Heather Golly

2.8.21 Updated Roosevelt Middle School Virtual Schedule
All students will follow the virtual schedule through next week. We will share details for our Classic schedule that will begin March 1st soon. Virtual schedules and classes will not be changing.
IMPORTANT! Hapara Update
Exciting news! We are pleased to announce that a very helpful tool called Hapara is now working with our Canvas and is once again available for our teachers. Hapara is an important tool to assist teachers with digital citizenship and classroom management. This tool allows teachers to monitor what students are accessing during class on their Chromebooks. We will be supporting our teachers in setting it up for their classes, and we wanted our parents to be aware of this tool and what it does. We have attached letters that detail the privacy policy and how we are adhering to the ethical monitoring policy for this instructional tool. Please let us know if you have any questions.
-------------------------------
Cameras On!
- Turn your cameras on during specific portions of the lesson as determined by the teacher.
- Respond verbally or in writing when prompted.
- Utilize the Chat feature appropriately to communicate with teachers and peers.
It is crucial that cameras are on and that students are actively participating in class in order to support engagement, community-building, and motivation for learning. We need your support as parents/guardians to stress the importance of these expectations with our Wildcats. Students who have particular issues having their cameras on should reach out to their teachers.
