Otsego Elementary Extra
COVID-19 Edition #5 - June 5, 2020
From the Desk of Katrina Baughman
Moving forward - if you still have Chromebooks, mice and/or chargers to return to the school, please contact me so I can ensure someone is in the office to receive them when you plan to drop them off.
I am including a parent letter below from a company called eSpark. Some of our teachers used this program this year, and most of our teachers will be using it next year. They are offering a FREE Summer School Option and any Otsego Elementary student can sign up. If your student used eSpark during the year already, their account will remain active over the summer. If your student is new to eSpark, this is a great way to keep them engaged in learning during the summer months! PLEASE CHECK OUT THE DIRECTIONS BELOW!
Starting next week, the Elementary Office will be closed, but you can still contact me at anytime to set up a time to pick up or drop off anything you might need.
I hope everyone has a wonderful and safe summer!
ESPARK SUMMER ACCESS - FREE!!!
We’re excited to be using eSpark as part of our summer school program. We believe eSpark will play an integral role in closing learning gaps and preparing your child for a strong fall.
- Usage Expectations: Please have your child use eSpark for 20-30 minutes each day for both reading & math. During this time, they’ll be learning & practicing at their individual level.
- Parent Portal: Please sign up for parent access by going to esparklearning.com/at-home. Once you sign up, you will be able to link to your child’s account, and eSpark will send you an email each time your child masters a new skill in eSpark.
- Parent Resources: eSpark offers a variety of parent resources to help support your child at home. Check out eSpark’s “at home” hub for parents to access a training video and other helpful resources.
As always, the eSpark team is here to support us during summer school. You may reach out to support@esparklearning.com with any questions.
Have a great day!

There are two types of Box Tops this year - electronic (must scan your receipt with the new app to get the money to the school), and the original Box Tops (can cut them out and send them in with your student!)
