WHAT IS A COMPUTER?
A computer is an electronic device for storing and processing information.
WHAT ARE THE MAIN COMPONENTS OF A COMPUTER?
A motherboard, A Central Processing Unit (CPU),the main memory, and a hard disk drive.
EXAMPLES OF SOFTWARE
Firefox, Google Chrome, Internet Explorer, VLC, Windows Media Player, Mac OS X 10, Windows XP, Windows 7, Adobe PhotoShop, CorelDRAW
WHAT IS A PERIPHERAL?
It is a computer device that is not apart of the essential computer.
PERIPHERAL DEVICE EXAMPLES AND WHAT THEY ARE USED FOR
Printer
A printer is used to print typed work.
Keyboard
A keyboard is used to type characters and functions into the computer by using keys or buttons.
Mouse
A mouse is used for moving the on-screen cursor to different items.
DIGITAL LITERACY
Digital Literacy is being able to use technology for technical skills.
MOTHERBOARD
A motherboard is a circuit board that hold the main components of a computer.
ROM
ROM stands for Read-Only Memory and it's high-speed memory reading that isn’t capable of program instructions changing it.
HTML
HTML stands for Hypertext Markup Language and it is a system for tagging text files.
HTTP
HTTP stands for Hypertext Transfer Protocol and it is a foundation of data communication and is the beginning of every website link.
HYPERLINK
Hyperlink is a link from a file or document leading to another file,picture or,website.
LAN
LAN stands for Local-Area Network it is a computer network that spans a small area.
OPTICAL DISK DRIVE
An Optical Disk Drive is a place you put a CD (Compact Disk) into a computer.
USB
USB stands for Universal Serial Bus and it allows communication between devices and computers.
NETWORK (OF COMPUTERS)
Network (of computers) is computers connected together for sharing resources.
WORLD WIDE WEB
The World Wide Web is an information system online that lets documents be connected to other documents.
