December Update
Calling All Teachers!!!
Remember, you have until December 31st, so keep the submissions coming!
Are you interested in presenting?
If so, please keep in mind that you don't have to commit to the whole day--- just one or two sessions is fine. Presenting also makes you eligible for double PD points!

How would you like to use your PD time?
The PD committee has lots of ideas, but we need your direction to best help you!
Not interested in presenting, but seen a great presenter? Send us their name!
Have an idea for a topic you'd like to see, but not sure who you'd recommend? That's okay too! Send us the information and let us do the research!
Don't be afraid to think outside the box! Have an idea for a content specific group to meet offsite? Give us a location!
Want to work on vertical alignment with a specific group of teachers? Let us know!
Last year we even had some book talks!

What's happening within the District?
- Grades K-2 continued their work with Fountas & Pinnell
- Grades 3-5 participated in training and implementation of Engineering is Elementary Kits from the Museum of Science
- Special Education department participated in a presentation with an attorney
- Grades 9-12 and the Physical Education department was trained on how to address mental health issues
- Music Education Department engaged in a district wide meeting in which they shared best practices and discussed future PD offerings
- K-8 Art teachers shared engaging instructional practices focused on acrylic pouring techniques and creating kinetic sculptures
- Grades 6-8 continued to make progress on the District Strategic Plan (Aligned Curriculum) Goals by developing common assessments that will be tried out this winter (see the chart below)
