TRIP Program
Final Days
MONDAY, APRIL 8
We finish up the ACT Aspire summative assessments in grades 3 through 8 on Monday. The makeup day for any missed tests is Tuesday. Thank you for continuing to encourage your children, making sure they are rested and fed, and arriving to school on time!
Lenten Reconciliation Services
MONDAY, APRIL 8, 9:00 a.m. & 7:00 p.m.
All are welcome to attend one of our services in Church. Grades 2-8 will go to Confession at 10:00 a.m. after they have completed the day's testing.Important HSA Meeting
Do you enjoy SAS family events like Frankfest, Trunk or Treat, the Daddy Daughter Dance, and Mother/Son Bowling? How about fun things for the kids like Santa's Secret Shop, Pajama Day milk & cookies, and the school picnic? These events don't happen without help, and over the last several years we have seen a serious decline in parents willing to lend a hand. Many of these events may have to be eliminated if the trend continues. Several lead parents and HSA board members are graduating their last children, so there is a need for fresh new leadership, as well as plenty of room for those who just want to help out here and there. Please come to the meeting and see where you fit in. We love to hear new ideas, too! (And you will earn a volunteer hour for attending the meeting.)
Playgroup Day
WEDNESDAY, APRIL 10,
9:00 a.m. in EXT DAY
Bring the little ones for some fun socialization, and a little grown-up interaction for you!
Early Dismissal Kicks Off Spring Break
We get out at 11:30 today (Extended Day will be available as usual), and then we are on break until April 25! Have a blessed Easter and a safe break.
Last Chance for Mother/Son Bowling
Tickets are still available through next week while they last. Lan Oak Lanes can accommodate 96 bowlers total, and we are over half sold out! Only $35 per mom/son couple gets you unlimited bowling, shoes, a photo keepsake magnet, and pizza. TICKETS WILL NOT BE SOLD AT THE DOOR. Earn volunteer credit for next year by helping out or donating pop, sides, and desserts.
Holy Week at St. Ann
PALM SUNDAY, APRIL 14
- Palm Sunday celebrates Our Lord's triumphant entrance into Jerusalem where He was welcomed by crowds worshiping Him and laying down palm leaves before Him. It also marks the beginning of Holy Week and the greatest tragedy and sorrow of the year. Masses are Saturday at 4:00 p.m. and Sunday at 8:30 & 10:30 a.m.
HOLY THURSDAY, APRIL 18
- Holy Thursday is the commemoration of the Last Supper of Jesus Christ, when He established the sacrament of Holy Communion prior to His arrest and crucifixion. It also commemorates His institution of the priesthood. Holy Thursday Mass will be at 7:00 p.m. with Eucharistic Adoration of the Blessed Sacrament until Midnight, where we are invited to spend time in the presence of the Eucharist just as the Disciples kept a vigil with Christ.
GOOD FRIDAY, APRIL 19
- The events of Good Friday are observed in the 14-step Stations of the Cross that will be presented in a walk down Ridge Road that begins at St. Ann and culminates with a community prayer service at Trinity Lutheran. We step off at Noon in front of Church. Our children have been attending Stations of the Cross every Friday during Lent, but here they can accompany the Cross in a completely different experience―invite the whole family!
- We will commemorate the Crucifixion of Jesus Christ at 3:00 p.m. in the Church with a service that includes the Veneration of the Cross. Traditionally, there is no Mass and no celebration of the Eucharist. Church bells are silent. Altars are left bare. The solemn, muted atmosphere is preserved until the Easter Vigil.
HOLY SATURDAY, APRIL 20
- Bring your Easter baskets and the food that will be prepared for your Easter meal to a special blessing that will be held at 1:00 p.m. in the Chapel.
- Immediately following the Basket Blessing, all children through age 10 (4th grade) are invited to participate in our annual Easter Egg Hunt on the parish grounds.
- The Easter Vigil will begin at 7:30 p.m., during which we will welcome our RCIA and RCIY candidates into the church with the sacraments of Baptism, First Holy Communion, and Confirmation, and also celebrate the Easter Vigil Mass.
EASTER SUNDAY, APRIL 21
- Come celebrate Jesus’ triumphant resurrection from the dead at 8:30 or 10:30 a.m. Mass!
