SIXTH GRADE CELEBRATION NIGHT
We are so proud of our 6th grade students for their hard work and accomplishments this year. At our 6th grade celebration night, students gave speeches focused around a word they chose to describe themselves, shared memories and stated future goals they each hope to accomplish. Families and friends filled the audience to show their support and pride in our students. We wish Katrina, Nick, Katie, Danny, Ryan, Maia, Anthony, Kane, Jameson, Brady, Isiac, Alexandra, Josiah, Alexis, Adam, Liberty, Kassidy and Owen the best of luck as they head off to seventh grade! Your new schools are very lucky to have you. RCS will forever be your elementary school. Please stop by to visit us often!
NOW THAT'S A RIDE TO SCHOOL!
ART SHOW
FIELD TRIPS
We ended the year with many amazing field trips. Our kindergarten and futures classes went on a community helpers field trip and visited Davis's Farmland. First grade students visited the Southwick Zoo. Our second graders were treated to a visit to the Ecotarium. Third and Fourth graders enjoyed a visit to the Boston Science Museum. Grades five and six embarked on a walking tour off Northampton which included a guided tour of the Smith Museum of Art and botanical gardens.
A huge thank you to our PTG for their efforts raising funds to provide these opportunities to our students.

MAD SCIENCE IN 2ND GRADE
Students in Mrs. Hoegen's 2nd grade class have been experimenting during "Mad Science" this week. They have created chemical reactions turning milk into colorful creations, made bouncy balls and much, much more!
GARDEN CLUB
As the year comes to an end, children in garden club learned about composting with worms and how beneficial worms are to gardens. They did an investigation involving measurement and observing some of their features.
SUMMER OPPORTUNTIES
Have a safe, fun and happy summer break!
It is hard to believe how quickly the school year has come to a close. We have finished a very busy and successful school year. I’d like to thank the entire RCS staff for their continued work and dedication. Our teachers go above and beyond every day to provide high-quality instruction and ensure school is engaging and fun.
Our students have grown so much this year. Their positive energy, hard work and kindness have been recognized and we are proud of all they have accomplished. For students and families moving on to middle school next year, we wish you the best.
Also, thank you parents and community members for your support of our students and school. You are such an important part of our school community. It truly takes a village.
I continue to feel honored to be part of this community and look forward to working with you for years to come providing our children with the best elementary school experience. Have a wonderful summer. I hope you’re all able to take time to relax and spend time with family and friends. We will see you back with us on Tuesday, September 6, 2016.
