RISE Newsletter
The May RISE Newsletter is HERE!
May is National Mental Health Awareness Month and our MAY RISE Newsletter investigates the connection between mental well-being and reading. This month’s newsletter includes parent resources about resiliency, self-regulation, and more.
GMS adjusted our lunch schedule and Fast Focus intervention times, adding more time to your lunches (from 25 minutes to 30 minutes), and allowing all students to participate in our Fast Focus Intervention at the same time. We are excited to make this change as we believe this shared building-wide intervention will greatly increase our ability to meet our students’ academic and social/ emotional needs. Students will be able to be pulled to different classes more frequently based on intervention, enrichment, and social needs regardless of which lunch they are assigned. We will be discussing this with you in more detail in the upcoming days.
Assigned student lunches will be based on who you have for 4th period. Below you will find the schedule and the list of teachers divided by A and B lunches. Determine your 4th period teacher and then see if they are on the A or B lunch list. Whichever list they are on, will also be your lunch and 4th period schedule. For example, if you have Mrs. Jutze, she is on the B list meaning you will have 4th period at 10:35-11:20 and then lunch at 11:20-11:50. If you have Coach Ellison, he is on the A list meaning you will have lunch at 10:30-11:00 and then 4th period at 11:05-11:50. Check it out below and let us know if you have any questions!

Morning Information
- To help things flow as quickly as possible at our car rider line, we ask that you let your child know which line you will be using so that they can be standing on that side of the pick up line. This will especially be important in bad weather when students will not be able to be standing outside.
- Drop off begins at 7:30 a.m. and pick up will begin at 3:20 p.m. Please remember to pull up as close as possible to the car in front of you. This allows us to load several students at one time.
- Tardy Bell rings at 7:50 when instruction begins for the day.
- We encourage you to still come eat lunch with your child. However, this year you will have to eat at one of the outside seating areas. Parents will not be able to enter the cafeteria due to safety guidelines.
