Egg Harbor Township High School
Week of June 14, 2020
From Our Principal
Greetings
June 18, 2020! This would have been the last day of school when students would be saying goodbye for the summer and signing yearbooks. Teachers would have been cleaning their rooms and preparing to walk out for a well deserved summer break. Graduates would be excited to return for their right of passage with a beautiful ceremony and Project Graduation at night.
As I reflect on the start of the year and my excitement of being back at the High School, I think about the first day for the teachers. Dr. Gruccio welcomed us back with a stellar performance by her central office staff as she discussed “Stranger things!” She talked about being in the upside down and being the change for students. Looking at things differently and learning along the way. Ironically as the year progressed we would say in response, “stranger things have happened!” When the Pandemic hit and Covid 19 took us for a loop we saw educators and staff make change for students to be educated. We saw parents helping their children be successful. We saw students take on a new roll as they navigated to google classrooms for connections with teachers and friends.
Wow, what a year it has been! With “every hand together every day,” we did it! We embraced the new norm, we engaged through virtual learning and we educated! We continued to make sure district goals were met. I have one more thing to do before I can say I made it through the year, and that is to hold a graduation ceremony on July 8th. It will not be exactly what EHT is accustomed to but it will be the best we can give to the class of 2020.
Thank you for your dedication, hard work and perseverance throughout the year. Thank you for being role models and experts in your area. Thank you for being you, teachers and staff that give 100% to our students! Have an awesome Summer! Until September, stay safe, be well, continue to dream of the possibilities ahead of us, be happy and smile at someone!

Covid 19 Didn't Stop Mr. Phillips' Annual Shaving of the Beard!
Our Mr. Phillips has a storied history of annually shaving his beard for charity. Proceeds typically benefit the American Cancer Society, but this year's will go to Project Graduation in honor of the Class of 2020. Normally, this would happen during the school day. Since we are currently in the age of remote learning, however, he decided to do things a bit differently.

All final report cards will be accessible in Infinite Campus Parent Portal by Thursday, June 18th after 4:00 pm.
