SUPERINTENDENT'S REPORT

Superintendent Laura Kacer reviewed current Polk Co. health metrics, zip code COVID positivity data, staff absence data, and the new CDC quarantine guidelines. She also provided an update on the SAVE & PPEL vote campaign.


Superintendent Kacer acknowledged the traffic concerns created along the east side of Merle Hay on NW 62nd through ongoing road construction and road closures. The district and Lawson principal Tom Bartello met with the City, Johnston PD, and construction engineers to design a more efficient plan for parent pick up and drop off, starting January 12.


UPCOMING MEETINGS

There will be limited seating in the District Office board room, in a distanced and safe seating style. Seat availability is first come, first seated. Citizens are encouraged to watch the board meetings via the livestream at https://team1sports.com/johnston/. Meetings begin at 6 p.m. January meetings are January 11 & 25; February meetings are on the 8th & 22nd.
