Note from the Editor: Wrapping up the School Year and Planning for the Future
Coming to the close of another school year is a good time for reflection. Looking at this past year for RISPA, we have focused on increasing active membership involvement and taking steps to plan for the future. As your state organization, we want to support the needs of school psychologists in Rhode Island. Look for more information coming soon as we take steps that will guide us moving forward.
RISPA Spring Event 2015
This year's event was held on May 13th at Chelo's by the Waterfront in Warwick. School psychologists, school psychology graduate students, college and university faculty and practitioners came together to celebrate accomplishments and partake in an amazing buffet that had everybody coming back for more. Make a mental note to plan on attending future opportunities such as this one. Check out some of the photos of the event below.
RI School Psychologist of the Year Award
Shannon Dowd-Eagle, PhD., Rhode Island College, was presented with the award for School Psychology Practitioner of the Year. Shannon was nominated by her group of graduate students who recognized her contributions in supporting their continued journey towards becoming school psychologists.

Poster Presentations
Graduate students from URI and RIC were on hand to discuss their work in schools this past year. These students are engaging in practices that are making impacts on student outcomes, and that's really what our work is all about.
