The Principal's Desk

Valentine’s Day: Class Valentine’s Parties will be held on February 14 th at 2:15-3:00 p.m. Parents, please plan on going to your child’s classroom no earlier than 2:00 p.m. to prepare for the party. If you have items from local florists delivered to your child at school, please remember that balloons and glass are NOT allowed on the bus.

School Attendance: The Missouri Department of Elementary and Secondary Education expects 90% of our students to be at school 90% of the time. Please do all you can to help us achieve this goal! That means that your child should not miss more than 4 days per quarter. Every minute, every hour and every day counts. At Webster students are considered tardy after 8:30 and if they are picked up early, every minute counts against their attendance. We understand that kids get sick; please do NOT send them when they are sick. However, if students are well, please make every effort to have them here

every minute possible. Webster Elementary is currently reaching our goal at 91.8 percent. That is the highest in the district and we want to keep that number above 90%!

Mrs. Mitchell,

Webster Principal

7 Habits of Happy Kids: Mission Statements at Webster

Each classroom at Webster Elementary has written a mission statement hung in our doorway, a key part of Habit 2: Begin With The End In Mind. Our mission statements help define our purpose in everything we do, whether it's remembering to take time to practice spelling words or practicing kindness with our neighbors at our tables. Ask your child about their classroom mission statement, what it is, and how the class wrote their mission statement. Challenge your family to write a mission statement about ideas that are meaningful to you and hang it on your fridge, bathroom mirror, or on the front door so everyone can be reminded about why they do what they do each day. Want to learn more about Mission Statements and the 7 Habits? Check out this blog post from The Leader In Me.

Make-up days for missed school

We will make up our three snow days on February 19, May 16, and May 17. The current last day of school will be May 17.
