Our Tweetcher for the Week of 9/10 was.....
While on a trip to Abu Dhabi to train teachers in STEM education, Alex went out of her way to send an email to make sure we were aware of a Skype session she would be having with her students during the week. We appreciate Alex letting us know about this, so that we could capture it on video to share with our social media audience.
You can catch part of Alex's Skype session here!
Our Tweetcher for the Week of 9/17 is.....
Julia was chosen as our Tweetcher of the week due to some awesome photos she sent us! Julia's pictures were nice and crisp (taken with a cell phone) and this picture in particular was great as she was right on the students' level.
Thanks Julia for taking the time to send us these great pictures and taking advantage of that great natural light that CECC has with those big windows!

Board to Visit Buildings
The work session meetings for the Board of Education will be held in the schools beginning in October. The purpose of these work sessions is for the Board to hear from the staff and the administrators about what is going on in the buildings. The format will begin with a presentation from the staff about the schools and about their goals and ideas for improvement. After the presentation, the Board would like to have some informal time to have a two-way conversation about the successes and challenges that staff face as they work to meet the needs of each child.
The main purpose of these meetings is to encourage collaboration and conversation between the Board of Education and the staff. They want to hear first hand what is going on in the buildings and they want to build a stronger relationship with the staff in the district. Having these conversations will help the Board have a better understanding about the workings of the district from a variety of perspectives, not just those of the superintendent. I hope all of you will join us during the meeting in your building. We can only get better when we are all willing to work together to achieve greatness.
The first meeting will be on October 10th at the Early Childhood Center at 6:00 pm. We look forward to hearing from the staff as we prepare to plan for the future. The schedule for the rest of the meetings will be sent out in the coming weeks.

Hello Clinton School District!
More SISFin Portal – "Did You Know"….
Log into the portal and check to make sure we have a current address on file for you. Click on the link “View Personal and W4 Info.” This menu kills two birds with one stone as not only can you verify your address but you can also see your Federal and State withholding set-up.
Now that you have received your first paycheck, it’s important to review this information. (Tax tables changed January 1, 2018 and the IRS strongly encourages us all to review our withholdings.)
To submit an address change, navigate back to the home page and click on ‘Submit Personal Info Changes.’ This will update our personnel and payroll software and starts the process with updating insurance companies, if applicable.
You may route new W4’s to me at Central Office via school mail or email if you want to make changes to your Federal or State withholdings.
Have a great week, my friends!
Thanks!!
Emily

*Tell us what you do in the CSD, how long you have been here and why you enjoy being a Cardinal .
This is my eighth year teaching kindergarten for the CSD. I love the sense of community and family in the district. Every single employee loves making a difference in the lives of our students and that fills me with pride. Having attended and graduated from Clinton in 2003, I've had the opportunity to work with several of my own past educators. There are some amazing role models and passionate people we have in our district!
*Tell us a little bit about your family/where you are from
My husband, Josh, is my high school sweetheart and we have been married for 14 years. We have four children; Andrew (13), Kason (11), Jocelyn (8, as of yesterday!), and Emersyn (1). They keep us busy between all of their sports and activities! We spend most of our time on a soccer, baseball, or football field. When we have some free time, we like being at the lake or watching movies together.
*If you were to write a book about your career in education, what would the title be?
If I wrote a book about my career in education, I would probably title it Behind the Scenes of Education or The Things Kids Say.
*What is your most overused phrase?
I tend to be kind of sporadic in my thoughts, so I say, "Totally off subject, but . . . " a lot.
*What food could you eat every day and never grow tired of it?
Mexican food! Especially guacamole and chips!!
*What are 3 things people would be surprised to know about you?
(1) I've never had a broken bone!
(2) I think chocolate cake is the worst!
(3) I have always loved going to the dentist!
A Wedding for Lankford
Congrats to 1st grade teacher Sarah Lankford and her husband, Darin.
Their oldest son (and CHS alum), Trent Lankford, became a married man on August 10th, when he married Michala Ellis.
The happy couple is now residing in Sedalia and attending Nursing School. Mrs. Lankford would like to give a shout out to Mrs. Houk and her wonderful Health Occupations program that helped prepare Trent for his journey!
A Grandbaby and Birthday Buddy
Jenny's son (and CHS alum), Travis and wife Shannon welcomed their son Oliver Lee Mitchell on September 4th in Chicago. Oliver weighed 8 lbs. 7 oz., and was 21 inches long.
To make this even more special, Oliver was born on Jenny's birthday!
