September News!

Our school year is off to a great start. Our Knox teaching staff has begun planning as Professional Learning Communities in their departments. Our grade-level teams will begin to take a more in-depth look at our Writing Plan for the school year.

Our Math department at Knox has begun implementation of our CPM math curriculum. Your student has a math packet for the current chapter. All students have math homework every night. This homework should be noted in your student's planner.

We hope that you will join us for Back to School Night on the 14th. We will have an optional Title 1 meeting in the parent room (15) from 4:30-5:00pm. There will then be a welcome from our Administration team in the Auditorium at 5:00. Following that, parents will be able to visit classrooms. Our Advisory teachers will be passing out Power School Parent Portal passwords as well as ballots for our SSC/SGT election.

At the end of the month, our 5th grade friends from Baker will be visiting Knox for a school tour and some fun team-building activities.

Reminder- Candy and gum are not allowed at school.

We will be starting our Saturday School program soon. On-time daily attendance is very important for student success. Gates open at 8am. First bell is 8:10am. School starts at 8:15.

If you have not completed your LCFF card or school registration packet, please come to the main office.

There is still space in Arc our Primetime Program. Please email Shanna to enroll: knox@arc-experience.com

The SRI is a measure of a student's reading level (lexile).

Knox Weekly Community Circles

Each Wednesday morning at Knox, our students participate in Community Building circles in their Advisory classrooms. These circles help our students to learn more about their classmates and our Knox staff. The circles also support our student's abilities in public speaking and collaboration. The weekly circles are run by student circle leaders, and are supported by our Knox Restorative Practices Coordinator Mr. Ponsford.
