Council Rock 2020 Kindergarten and new first-grade student registration is almost here! From March 9 - March 13 our elementary schools will be buzzing with registration activity. Please refer to the following schedule for your school's upcoming registration dates and times. No appointment is necessary, as Council Rock offers a first-come-first-serve, walk-in process.

COUNCIL ROCK COMMUNITY AQUATICS PROGRAM
Registration information is now posted for the spring session of the Council Rock Community Aquatics Program at www.crsd.org/aquatics. Important upcoming dates include:
Children’s Swimming Lessons registration will begin on Saturday, February 8, 2020 for CR Residents.
The spring session of the Council Rock Community Aquatics Program includes children’s swimming lessons, adult lap swimming, adult beginner swim lessons, lifeguarding classes, and competitive swimming and diving clinics.

All summer classes blend skills, maintenance, and enrichment activities with core subject curriculum. Courses run Monday through Thursday, 8:30 AM – 12:30 PM.

COUNCIL ROCK SOUTH STUDENTS WIN TOP AWARDS IN SCHOLASTIC ART AND WRITING CONTEST
Since 1923, the Scholastic Art & Writing Awards have recognized the vision, ingenuity, and talent of our nation’s youth and provided opportunities for creative teens to be celebrated. Through the Scholastic Awards, teens in grades 7–12 from public, private, or home schools can apply in 29 categories of art and writing for their chance to earn scholarships and have their works exhibited and published.
Congratulations to the following CR students for their outstanding accomplishments in the Scholastic Art and Writing Competition.
Senior Kiley Malloy of Council Rock High School South received a Gold Key in the Writing Portfolio category for her submission entitled “Running, Returning.” Junior Sarah Langer received 3 Gold Keys; in the Poetry category, Sarah won for her submissions entitled “Melody” and “Au Revoir”. In the Humorous Writing category, she won for her essay entitled “Ferocious Fours.”
Kiley also received 3 Silver Keys in the categories of Poetry, Personal Essay, and Memoir. Sarah received 2 Silver Keys in the Poetry and Critical Essay categories.
Sophomores Shivani Kumar, Lauren Pierce, Gregory Scelzi, Lea Wang, Kelsey Joy Nazaruk, and Juniors Kate VanBilliard, and Megan Castonguay all won Silver Keys in the Personal Essay and Memoir category. Castonguay also received a Silver Key in Poetry for her work entitled “Human Nature.”
Sophomore Sahil Patel received 2 Honorable Mention awards in the Personal Essay and Memoir category, and Isabella Selekman was awarded an Honorable Mention in the same category.
Student artist Camille Di Amico won 2 Honorable Mention awards from the Philadelphia Art Region Affiliate for her Pastel submission entitled “Momento Mori.”
Gold Key honorees will be honored at the 2020 Scholastic Art and Writing Awards ceremony this April. Congratulations to all of our talented competitors.
