Lincoln School News
February
Message from Mrs. Hawkins
Lincoln Families and Friends,
The weather is warming up and there appears to be sunshine coming our way. This school year continues to present challenges because of COVID-19, but we are working through these challenges and finding solutions so that students can continue to have a good year. When I walk through the halls and classrooms, I am encouraged by seeing the routines and the learning that is taking place in the school. Students and staff are enjoying this time together and I know there are many smiles under the face coverings.
Last month we completed winter benchmarking assessments to determine where the students are in their learning and plan for the rest of the year. March is an awesome time to put these learning plans in place and really see growth in our students. We are optimistic that our students will show resiliency and will make a typical year’s growth even during this difficult year where we have lost instructional time. April will bring state testing for our 3rd, 4th, and 5th grade students. These tests give us valuable information to assess our curriculum and student learning. Please help us by marking these dates on your calendars:
MCA Reading Test: April 6 & 7
MCA Math Test: April 20 & 21
MCA Science Test (5th grade only): April 27 & 28
We are thankful that many of the staff members will receive COVID vaccines this month and we continue to be grateful for the opportunity to have students in-person. We also appreciate your support.

Classroom Input Forms
As we prepare for the next school year, our staff takes a tremendous amount of time
and thought in developing classroom placements. There are many variables to keep
in mind including balance of gender, relationships, student academic needs, overall
enrollment, social and leadership skills, and much more. Ultimately, we strive to create
classroom placements that will enhance each child’s opportunity for success. If parents want
to share specific information about their child that would be helpful in this process, they must
complete a Classroom Input Form. Parents will need to pick these up these forms from the
Lincoln Office and return them before Friday, April 9th. We will take parents’ input into account, but we need parents to use this written process as we must have the information
