Gough Whitlams early years were spent in Melbourne, Sydney and Canberra where he finnished school several times. His law studies at the university of Sydney and newly married life with Margret were interupted by war when he served in the royal australian air force ( RAAF ) from1942 till 1945. Gough Whitlam led the Australian labor party to victory at two elections.
