PRINCIPAL AND VICE PRINCIPAL'S MESSAGE
Bonny Slope Families,
It’s February already! Where did the time go? It seems like yesterday that Mr. Hiller was spraying colored dots on the field for kids to eat outside, and Mrs. Maza was busily checking classrooms with a yard stick for 3 feet distances. While we hoped we’d be in a better spot with our pandemic, signs are encouraging that every day we are one day closer to a return to school as it was.
Recently, we’ve been notified that some of our families aren’t following our drop off procedures as they should be. Some parents are parking in spots near the school, walking their students to the door, and then trying to back out of their space while cars are in line to drop off. This creates a huge back up of cars, which delays people being able to leave the parking lot quickly. We sent out a note to the community on ParentSquare Monday about this, please see below if you are a person who drops off your student(s) by car.
Thanks to everyone who continues to support our work to maintain social distancing and masking outside of the school day. We appreciate everything you do for your students and for us!
Janet Maza and Jim Hiller

LOST AND FOUND
Our Lost and Found is Overflowing!
The bins will be outside the front of the building from 7am-7pm beginning Friday 2/4 and continuing Monday 2/7 thru Friday 2/11. The bins will have items lost prior to 2/4. Please come by to claim your student's missing items. Anything remaining after Friday 2/11 will be donated to the Beaverton Clothes Closet.
Please label everything your student brings to school. We do check lost items for names and return those that are clearly labeled. Thank you for your help with this!

Arrival Procedures
Bonny Slope Community,
In order to ensure our students arrive safely, please read the information below regarding arrival procedures at Bonny Slope.Arrival Procedures for Bonny Slope Elementary
- Only drop off students in front of the building. If you are the first car in line, pull up to the mailbox. Students should get out on the driver's side. The driver does not leave the car.
- If you are wanting to walk your student to the door, only park in the parking lot to the right of the entrance if you can wait for traffic to die down before exiting this parking lot.
- Do not have your student get out of the car for drop-off until you are in front of the building.

Dismissal
If an unexpected event forces you to change your child’s going-home plans after 8:20 am, please call the school office directly at 503-356-2040. Teachers are engaged with students all day long, and emailing changes to teachers is not a reliable way to share emergency information, especially when there is a substitute. Please ONLY change plans in case of rare emergencies. Our top priority is keeping every student safe. Frequent plan changes result in confusion on the part of students, teachers, and office staff; we cannot guarantee that last-minute information will reach students in a timely manner. Please help us to keep every student safe by following a consistent plan.
Additionally, we ask all parents to avoid picking up their children early. Our office is very busy, especially between 2:45-3:05pm. It is for this reason we ask that you do not interrupt the class to pick up your child between 2:45-3:05 pm.
