P-EBT Cards Being Distributed
NLRSD families have begun receiving Pandemic SNAP (P-EBT) cards in the mail. These cards are distributed to families whose students attend a public school in Arkansas and are eligible for free or reduced-price school meals. Because the North Little Rock School District participates in Community Eligibility Provision, which provides breakfast and lunch to all students regardless of their household incomes, all families in our district will receive the P-EBT card if their student was enrolled in the NLRSD as of May 31, 2023.
The benefit amount will be a one-time payment of $120 per eligible student. It will be issued on a separate EBT card for each eligible student. The cards will be mailed to the students' address that was listed in eSchool at the end of last school year.
We do not have any additional information. If you have any questions, please contact the P-EBT hotline at 1-833-316-2421.
A Look at Early Release Wednesdays
This school year, the North Little Rock School District has implemented Early Release Wednesdays. On these days, students are dismissed early while teachers stay at school to collaborate. They discuss innovative teaching strategies, student data, state standards to which students will be exposed, classroom management tactics, and so much more. Early Release Wednesdays allow teachers and administrators the additional planning time to drive student achievement and success.
In this video, we pay a visit to Boone Park Elementary School to see how they spend their time on an Early Release Wednesday.
District Testing Calendar Released
The Curriculum Innovation & Design Department has developed the 2023-2024 District Testing Calendar. Assessments are critical to better meet the needs of students. Through testing, we can determine student strengths and opportunities for improvement to provide targeted instructional support that meets the needs of our scholars.
Please encourage your student to take every assessment seriously.
Flu Clinics Scheduled
The Safety Services Department has released the flu clinic calendar. Students and employees will have the opportunity to have their flu shots administered while on campus.
