Gators of the Week - Work hard. Get smart. Do good.

Gators of the Week: Varsity Men's Cross Country Wins Eye Opener Invitational

Work hard. The Boys Varsity XC Team won the 50th Annual Eye Opener Invitational with a dominant Team Performance. Competing against 55 Teams, from South Carolina, North Carolina, and Tennessee, the Gators finished 1st, with 117 Points – almost 100 points greater than the second place Team. Led by a Top 10 individual finish by Senior Jonathan Tan – the Gators placed 4 runners below the 18:00 mark – Seniors Jonathan Tan & William Moran, and Sophomores Chris Conrick & Jacob Mangione. Rounding off the Top 5 scoring athletes was Senior Jonathan Cochran, who just missed the sub 18 mark, with a 18:15.
The RBXC travels to Sandhills Research Center next Saturday for the Coaches Classic Invitational.

Gators of the Week: Art on Display at the Columbia Metropolitan Museum and in Washington DC

Get smart: Several of our students won a Columbia Museum of Art photography contest called "South Carolina: Bridging the Past and the Present" over the summer.

Entries were due in July and multiple students won and even had 2 photos accepted not just one!! All of the students were seniors at the time and have since graduated but we think it is a wonderful legacy to leave behind.

Students were:

  • Maggie McKinney
  • Tiera Rivers
  • Ashley Roberts
  • Jennifer Sturkie
  • Angelina Tyler

Gators of the Week: Buddy CREWs begin this week

Do good. Great start to buddy CREWs this week as senior CREWs will mentor freshman CREWs.

Signing Out Procedures

A reminder to parents regarding signing students out during the school day. Someone from the student's sign out sheet must come in and show ID to dismiss a child. We do not accept phone calls or emails for dismissal. You can come in on Monday to sign your child out during the week but only up until Friday of the same week. Also, if you are dismissing your child during ILT, then it is helpful to have made arrangements with the student ahead of time. We appreciate your help to assist in making this process efficient.

Counseling and Advisement Assignments for Students

Counseling and Advisement Team

The Counseling & Advisement team is working towards a more intentionally focused program to provide students with the best support. Rather than counselors having students in all grade levels (9-12), we are realigning to be able to more appropriately serve students’ transitional needs at the different levels. This realignment will also more closely mirror our CREW design allowing students to stay with their school counselor their 9th and 10th grade years and then have another counselor their 11th and 12th grade years.
