Chemical Properties of Neon!

Neon is a noble gas, and therefore does not react with other elements. Neon is not soluble in water. Neon is not flammable.

Physical Properties of Neon!

Neon is very light and colourless under normal conditions, however, it glows a reddish-orange colour when in a vacuum discharge tube, as it is excited electrically. Neon has a boiling point of -246 degrees Celsius. The melting point of neon is -248 degrees Celsius.

Uses of Neon!

Neon is most often used to attract people to things with neon signs. It is also used as a cryogenic refrigerant. Neon also makes high-voltage indicators.
