PurposeFull Practice: Courage, Lesson 3
I spent time presenting Courage: Lesson 3, in TK-AM and all kindergarten and first grade classes this week. I can honestly say that you would be so very proud of your students! They were Respectful, Responsible, Kind, and Safe; and they soaked in all of the information. It is really something to hear approximately 200 children saying the Courage Chant together.
In keeping with the Courage Theme, we took time out of our days to think about the many courageous people who serve us: Law Enforcement, Medical Staff, Firefighters, Teachers, and Parents -to name a few. As a site, we decided that we wanted to surprise our students and honor a few of our local Courageous Leaders: Highway Patrol Officer Muzzy and Cal Fire Captain Zarate. I have included a few photos of Officer Muzzy's visit -below. Next week, I will showcase our time with Captain Zarate.
Today ends our lessons on Courage and we are moving on to Respect. Like I tell the students, although we will be learning about a New PurposeFull Practice; just like reading or writing, we continue to practice and grow stronger in the former one (Courage). I have attached the Parent Resource Letter re Respect (2). You will find family activities, suggestions, and resources that will not only reinforce the lessons; they will help your family to engage in a meaningful way.
Please feel free to contact me with any questions, concerns, or ideas.
