News from Ms. Hess
In literacy, we read narrative and free verse poetry this week including classics by Shel Silverstein and Langston Hughes. We looked for rhyme, repetition, and theme in our poetry.
Writers worked to describe an emotion (abstract noun) by using similes to describe that feeling.
In time traveling, we learned about the land bridge that existed during the last ice age bringing humans from Siberia into North and South America. We are now going to be learning about how groups of native people adapted to the environments they settled in within North America.
