Week of October 27-31
Check Out The Kindergarten Fun!
Monday-What a busy week we have! We are learning about the color black this week. We also continued with our author study on David Wieser. We read the books, Tuesday, The Three Pigs, and Flotsam. We then completed a class graph on which book we liked best. Students were able to discuss why they liked the books and their favorite part of the story.
Wednesday-A local vet, Dr. Jagger, visited Kindergarten to talk about her job. She showed up tools she uses to take care of our animals. Dr. Jagger also showed us x-rays from cats and dogs! In writing, we read The Very Busy Spider by Eric Carle and discussed the words beginning, middle, and end. Students then completed an activity drawing what the web looked like at the beginning, middle, and end of the book. In math, we ordered numbers completed an ordering numbers activity.
Thursday- We read, Where The Wild Things Are by Maurice Sendak. Students then created a brochure on beginning, middle, and end of the story. We also made our very own Five Little Pumpkin books. Our class visited the Wonder Lounge and used the iPods for spelling and math apps.
Friday-Happy Halloween! We had a very busy day today! Mrs. Joyner came for our guidance lesson. We also shared community helper projects and had a community helper visit our classroom. Dr. Bickers, a local dentist and Ms. Williams' brother, came to discuss his job as a dentist. The community helper projects were amazing! Students did a great job sharing their work. Our Fall Festival party in our classroom was a great success! It was so fun and thanks to parent for sending in goodies.

Upcoming Events
KG T-ball: The Carson Raymond Foundation has generously offered to come to Crozet during PE and instruct our kindergarten classes in t-ball.
