GUATAMALA TOY DRIVE - SHARING SMILES ACROSS THE MILES!!!
My name is Paul Carani, and I am a 7th grade teacher at Wredling. Over the past three years my family and I have become involved with a medical mission that visits Guatemala for one week over the summer. During this time, our medical personnel treat approximately 1000 patients, many who wait the better part of the day to seen. For most of these people, this is the only medical care they will receive until we return the next year.
Our Wredling Student Council has agreed to help us collect unused toys to donate to the children we treat. We are not asking for anyone to go out and buy anything. We are hoping to collect the small toys that are often included in children’s meals from local fast-food restaurants. Anything that can fit in the palm of your hand would be perfect!
We will continue collecting toy donations throughout the month of April. There will be collection bins in each pod for toys to go in. We are happy to take any small toys off your hands and share those with the kids we will meet on our mission trip. The kids we see in Guatemala are so appreciative, and their smiles are priceless. I would appreciate any donations you might be able to provide.
Thanks for your help in making this a successful drive and sharing smiles across the miles! Cheers!
Paul Carani

Attention Parents of 8th Grade Students:
Families With Incoming 6th Graders
Our transition time for families with incoming 6th graders will begin in May this year. We always look forward to these times when our school is visited be our future RedHawks and their families. It is a great time for 5th graders to see the building during their classroom visits while getting a brief tour from a current RedHawk. As principal, I especially love this time when we get to meet new families and explain how middle school is so amazingly different from elementary school. If you know a family of a soon to be middle schooler, please encourage them to attend the upcoming transition opportunities.
