ECLC Class News
Week of 3/14-3/18
What we did this week ...
I read several books about St. Patrick's Day this week. These included There was an Old Lady Who Swallowed a Clover, 10 Lucky Leprechauns, and Green Shamrocks.
For our centers, the students made patterns with jelly beans and counted using ten frames. They used letter stamps to spell CVC words, and identified rhyming words.
In social skills group, the students learned about expected and unexpected behaviors.
Jelly Bean Patterns
The students had fun extending patterns with jelly beans.
Gold Coin Sight Words
The students enjoyed searching for sight word coins. They read the word, then colored the sight word on the worksheet.
The students used a pan balance during math this week.
Other things we did this week ....
In phonics, the students tapped out sounds to make words. I dictated sounds to the students, and they wrote the corresponding letters. They practiced writing the letters Q and R in their handwriting books.
We reviewed our learned sight words this week.
We are in need of supplies. If you haven't sent in any yet this year, or need to send in the second round of supplies, please do so when you have a chance after the break.
We need paper towels, baby wipes, clorox type wipes, hand sanitizer, and tissues.
Thank you for your help with this.
Have a wonderful spring break!
Fundations for Fun
During free play, some of the students started to draw the lines that we use during handwriting. These include the skyline, plane line, and grass line.
Fundations for Fun
One student did it, then other students started to write the lines on the magna doodles too. I think it is great that they did Fundations for fun.
This seesaw is popular among the students. As you can see, we have six of our students on here. Sorry the picture does not capture their faces better.
