Texas PTA Partners with Whataburger for Reflections

What A Partnership!

Texas PTA is proud to announce a partnership with Whataburger centered around the arts and benefitting the Reflections program. “We are excited to welcome Whataburger as our newest back the future sponsor,” said Texas PTA Executive Director Kyle Ward. The Reflections program gives students the opportunity to express their creativity through dance choreography, music composition, visual arts, film production, literature, and photography.

“Whataburger is proud to support Texas PTA’s Reflections Program which empowers children of all ages and abilities to express their creativity and originality through art," said Whataburger Vice President of Communications Pam Cox. "Schools faced with limited funding often cut their art programs first, but we believe in providing children the resources they need to find their talent and follow their dreams.”

Whataburger’s sponsorship includes the following:

  • The student receiving Outstanding Interpretation in each of the six categories and one special artist will receive free Whataburger for a year
  • Students attending the Reflections ceremony in the Spring will receive a special gift and a free Whataburger lunch

To learn more about the Reflections program or to download an entry form, visit the Texas PTA website.

A special thank you to Whataburger for stepping up to back the future and support the arts!

Continental Mathematics League (CML)

CML offers different types of math and computer science contests (meets) for second grade and up. All CML experiences are designed to both maximize student opportunities to participate and to improve their problem solving capabilities. Students will be participating with other students on the same grade level from schools all over the United States.

Harrington PTA provided the registration fee for teams in grade 2-5. Students in those grades will have the opportunity to participate in the CML Mathematics meets. Practices will be held after school if students are interested and able to stay. Meets will be held during the school day. Students may compete in the meets even if they don’t attend practice.

Fourth and fifth grades have a meet coming up soon. Practices for the first meet will be held in Ms. Patrick’s room G103 from 2:45-3:30 on the following days: Oct 30, Oct 31, Nov 6, Nov 7, Nov 13, Nov 14, Nov 27 & Nov 28.

Please use this link: https://goo.gl/M3JKEC to access the Google form and register your child to stay after school for practice. Registration will only be available to 4th and 5th graders, 2nd and 3rd graders will start in Dec. Remember, the meets will be during the school day and are open to all students.

Please contact me with any questions about CML.
