LOVE YOUR PLAYGROUND WALK
WE ARE SO EXCITED FOR THE 2ND ANNUAL FUN WALK FOR THE CES PLAYGROUND!
CES families have raised $22,768 so far to improve our playground.
Our goal this year is to raise $27,098 more to purchase and install the equipment.
Students will have the opportunity to win amazing prizes while walking to show love for their playground in a "LOVE YOUR PLAYGROUND WALK" on Monday, February 24th.
The equipment and installation is currently up for bid on the state website to get the best value for safety and fun. Our goal is to have the new equipment installed this Spring.

COLUMBIA YOUNG 5's PROGRAM
KINDERGARTEN OPEN HOUSE
LATCHKEY
Latchkey is a before and after school child care program located in Columbia Elementary School. Children in Kindergarten to 5th grade can attend this program from 6:30 a.m. - 7:50 a.m. ($8) and from 2:55-5:00 p.m. ($8) or 2:55-6:00 p.m. ($10). There is an annual, non-refundable $30 registration fee per family to guarantee a spot. A child must be pre-registered before using the Latchkey program.

Cash Bash Reading Basket Donations
CASH BASH 2020
The 6th annual Golden Cash Bash will be held on Saturday, February 22, 2020, from 5:00 pm to 10:30 pm at the Gene Davis & Sons Banquet & Convention Center. The cost is $80 per ticket, and each ticket will admit two people. Tickets are available for purchase in all district offices. You do not need to be present to win.
COUNSELOR'S CORNER
Career Day
Career Day is coming up! Friday, March 6th students K-2nd will be participating in a Career Day in the morning. We are excited to do this for the 2nd year at CES. We are still looking for additional volunteers to come and share their exciting careers with students. We would love to have a variety of careers to help students look at the many paths possible! Please return the form sent home recently, or contact Mrs. Phelps at 517-592-6632 or email ashley.phelps@myeagles.org.
Parents/Guardians, other family members or community members are all welcome to volunteer as a presenter. A background check will be required for everyone. Thank you for considering joining us for this fun filled experience!
Military Care Packages from K-KIDS
The CES K-Kids are collecting items in February to send in Military Care Packages. The suggested items are listed below. The K Kids will be making cards to put in each package. We thank our CES families for supporting their efforts. They are excited to spread love and kindness in this way!
Food items - candy, snacks, drink mixes
Personal care - toothbrush/paste, shaving cream, soap, hair supplies, clothing
Entertainment items - puzzle books, magazines, books, etc.
Communication items - note cards/envelopes, stamps, Apple iCards, other gift cards to let them call home
PTO Information
The next PTO meeting is coming up on Thursday, February 6 at 6:00 p.m. in the lower elementary library! All parents and staff are invited to come. Free childcare is available during the meeting.

KINDNESS SHOP
February is Kindness Month in the CES Library. We will learn and read about showing kindness. We will also have a kindness shop where students and staff can purchase small gifts to be delivered to friends, staff and family.
The Kindness shop will be open February 3 - 13th.
