The pep rallies today were awesome! Thanks to all the organizations and parent supporters who volunteered to show up early and bring all the "extras" that make these events so great. We love our community!
First quarter report cards are in HAC. Parent conference day is October 28th. If you want a conference with a specific teacher, please reach out via email to that teacher. The teachers will also do their best to coordinate schedules for multiple teachers to meet with you when requested.
The fun never stops at CMS! Next week, we are ready for Red Ribbon Week organized by our Teen Leadership classes. See the graphic below for details.
Have a wonderful weekend,

Yearbook Dedication Ads-DEADLINE November 1st
Are you looking for a creative way to tell your student, “I love you and I’m proud of you”?
Place a recognition ad in the yearbook!
This is a one-time opportunity for 8th grade students only. In the future, seeing your message will bring a smile as they remember your love and support during these important years. And, it’s easy to create a recognition ad. Go to this website https://jostensadservice.com?REF=A01115764, create an account, and design your ad for your student. You get to pick the photos and text you would like in your ad, format will be adjusted to match the theme and colors of the yearbook.
We can even keep the ad a secret until the yearbook is distributed (but only if your son or daughter isn’t on the yearbook staff).
Reserve a space for your ad today to say how proud you are. Like the yearbook, your message will be a permanent memory. Deadline is November 1st!
Theatre Department
Come check out the CMS Theatre Department’s production of Attack of the Pom-Pom Zombies! Show dates are November 7th, 8th, and 9th at 7:00pm. Tickets are $5 at the door or online at www.tinyurl.com/appztix. There is also an understudy show on November 9th at 3:00pm – those tickets are by donation at the door. Hope to see you at the show!
Show synopsis: It's the 1960s, a big nuclear blast to the past! School's out for the summer, and the teenagers of Ocean View High are ready to surf, sun and have some fun. Their favorite hangout is Barnacle Betty's Beach Club, which happens to be right next door to the evil Ivana Ratnik's nuclear power plant. But, ooops! Cindy Sue, the head cheerleader, accidentally gets some nuclear slime on her hot dog instead of pickle relish, and soon the beach is overrun with pom-pom wielding zombies!

PTO News
Students LOVE the snack shack, and I love that our PTO is committed to opening it each week. Our SNACK SHACK is always in need of volunteers. It is a fast and fun way to be involved. Thanks for all the support.

Lunch for Students
Due to a variety of safety concerns related to food allergies and campus safety and security, McKinney ISD does not allow students to utilize food delivery services at school. This includes services such as Uber Eats, Doordash and direct restaurant delivery. However, parents/guardians will still be permitted to drop food off for their children.
This rule does not apply to deliveries organized by McKinney ISD faculty or a teacher serving as a sponsor of a student organization. We appreciate your cooperation in our efforts to create a safe and secure environment for students.
Parents may only deliver food for your own child. We can't accept group deliveries.
Want to Volunteer?
If you would like to volunteer at CMS, please complete the Volunteer Background Check. If you have been approved in the past, you have until September to update your application for the new school year. You must complete a new form each year. Please note that if you do not complete the proper paperwork, you cannot help chaperone field trips or help with the school in any way. We need and want your help, so please fill out the forms now.
