MNSAA Onsite Visit

November 9th-11th, a Team of three educators will visit Highland Catholic School as part of our accreditation process. Highland Catholic School is accredited by the Minnesota Non-Public School Accrediting Association.

During the 2019-20 school year, Highland Catholic School teachers conducted a self-study in Standards such as Curriculum, Assessment, Communications, Safety, and School Climate. Part of the self-study included a household survey. From the self-study and survey we have developed a long range strategic plan.

The Visiting Team will spend time in classrooms (at a social distance), interview teachers and staff, and look in every closet. If time permits, they may make a few phone calls to households, too. We are looking forward to hosting this visit.

Fire Drill

Students have practiced one socially distanced fire drill and did an exceptional job moving quickly and being silent. Even with spacing between students, we were able to clear the building in two minutes and six seconds. Later in October, the St. Paul Fire Department will visit us to observe our quick and safe evacuation of the building. Safety first.

School Pictures

Shortly, you will receive information about your child's Picture Day. We will have photographers here on Tuesday, Oct. 20th and Wednesday, Oct. 21st. Pictures will be taken in the gym where students are used to standing on dots for temperature checks in the morning.

The schedule is a bit complicated, but ideal for timing. For example: one kindergarten pod will be Tuesday and the other Wednesday. You will know exactly when your child is scheduled.

I don't think there is anything cuter than students in their school uniforms on Picture Day. If you would like your child in uniform, please send them play clothes to change into if necessary.

All pictures must be ordered ONLINE. Due to Covid there is no collection of any paper. You will find directions coming home tomorrow with your child.
