Bulldog News - October 2019
Bendersville Elementary
From the Principal:
We’ve had a great start to the school year! We have a busy fall season ahead of us. Please read on to learn of the many exciting activities occurring here at Bendersville Elementary School!
Parent/Teacher Conferences are rapidly approaching, and we are starting to work on scheduling times for you to meet with your child’s teacher(s). The conferences will be held on Monday, November 25th, from 12:00 p.m.– 7:30 p.m.; and Tuesday, November 26th, from 12:00 p.m. until 7:30 p.m. There will be no school for students on Monday, November 25th through Monday, December 2, 2019.
It is important that you make every effort to attend this conference so that you and the teacher can discuss your child’s progress in school.
Please remember that Bendersville Elementary has gone paperless by scheduling parent-teacher conferences online. Please follow the directions below to select the best time for you. You must sign-up between October 29th and November 22nd. The site will close on November 22nd.
To schedule your preferred time for a parent-teacher conference,

2. Click on the name of your child’s teacher.
3. Select the desired date/time for your conference by clicking on “Sign Up.”

(Please note, Biglerville Elementary will be sending home conference papers if you have a child in that building. They are not using this site.)
After you schedule a conference online, the date and time are reserved for you. If you entered your email address correctly, you will receive email confirmation of your conference.
Picture Retake Day
Walk to School Day
National Walk to School Day is observed annually in October. This is a day to get out and get some exercise while enjoying the weather. We will be observing the Walk to School event on Wednesday, October 2, 2019. Walking is one of the best forms of exercise. It isn’t hard on our joints and feet like running and jogging but still gives us all the advantages. The goal of this day is to raise awareness and support for the health, community and environmental benefits of regularly walking to school.
If you are able to walk to school with us, please meet at the Square (Bank) promptly at 8:30AM. Students and staff present will walk to school together. Safety will be discussed, crossing the streets as well as respecting community property. We’re looking forward to our 2019 Walk to School Day!
Red Ribbon Week
We will be participating in Red Ribbon Week again this year, which will be October 21st-25th. The Red Ribbon Campaign strives to promote drug awareness and prevention all across the country. This year's national theme is "Send a Message. Stay Drug Free." It is a call to action to speak out and support healthy choices in and outside of school. Share the message with your children about the dangers of drugs and the importance of living a drug-free life to ensure a happy and healthy future. Stay tuned for this years' spirit days and what to wear during Red Ribbon Week!
