We Are A.R.M.Y. Strong!!
Each day, we say the Continental Creed: "As a member of the Continental Army, I promise to be Accountable, Respectful, Motivated to Learn, and do mY best." We also remind students of our school goal of achieving a letter grade of a B in three years or less....Students will hear us say "Are you helping us get to a B in 3?" If we all focus on being ARMY Strong every day, we will reach this goal!

Jeans or Sweatpants and Hoodies on Friday
Students will be allowed to wear their jeans or sweatpants on Friday for $2 and their hoody for $1. The funds raised from this event will help support the restocking of the Base Exchange store that allows students to purchase items with the stamps they earn for good behavior and effort.
WMS Gets New Netbooks in January
All student netbooks were collected last week to ensure updates and repairs for the Spring Semester. With the new ISTEP+ assessment right around the corner, our goal is to ensure that students have access to quality technology for class instruction and for practice assessments. Sixth and seventh grade students will have access to carts of new and repaired netbooks during each class and during the Penny Lane Study Cafe. The eighth graders will be reassigned the old netbooks for the second semester in order to prepare them for the transition to high school. It will be necessary for them to learn to be held accountable for the daily charging and care prior to high school. If you have questions about students not bringing their netbook home or if you would like to check one out, you can contact Mr. Merriwether or Ms. Branson.
Santa Shop Available at Base Exchange
Students will be able to use their stamps earned for good behavior and grades to purchase items for their families and friends at the Base Exchange. A variety of items were added to the store for students to purchase as gifts for others. If you have small items or trinkets that you would like to donate, we would be grateful for the donations. We need small items for the Base Exchange store throughout the year as rewards. Please bring any donated items to the main office. Thank you in advance!
Acuity Assessments This Week
Students will be taking the Winter assessment for Science, Social Studies, ELA and Math this week. This assessment gives us a picture of how ready students are for those portions of the ISTEP+ assessment in the Spring.
Picture Retakes on Tuesday
Students who need to have a picture retaken will have the opportunity on Tuesday. We will also take pictures of our new students in order to ensure they make the yearbook.
Tutoring Available at Penny Lane Study Cafe!
Monday through Thursday, students will have access to free tutoring in all subjects in our Penny Lane Study Cafe. Students can drop in at any time to get assistance on studying for a test, completing a project, or doing homework. Students do not need to register or sign up. They can drop in at any time, get a snack, get some work done, then catch a bus home!
