Bruno comes home one day to find his maid maria packing his things. He doesn't understand why so he goes to find his mom. She tells him their moving from Berlin to outwith. Something about it seems to really upset Bruno. He doesn't want to move from all his best friends and their big house. But a couple days later their in the car. On their way to out with. Bruno quickly finds himself lonely without his friends. His older sister Gretel is no fun either. One day Bruno looks out the window and see the huts behind his house. He doesn't understand what they are until her reads a plaque that says its a "camp". In the camp there are lots of people in striped pajamas. Bruno loves exploring so he goes on a long walk along the fence. He sees a boy in striped pajamas on the other side of the fence, he looks sickly skinny. He goes and talks to the boy and see each other every day and soon become good friends. Then one day the boy invites him to the other side of the fence. Will Bruno go? If he does will he return? 1) I learned that Jews were not only prisoners but slaves and used for chores and every day jobs.

2) I learned that Soldiers are hard on everyone including kids.

3) I learned that not everyone knew about Hitler, and that some people hid it from their families.

4) I learned that some families split when one side was for Hitler and the other side was against him.

Who Will Enjoy This Book?

Any one with a taste for adventure. This book is a page turner and really makes you think. The author drops clues but lets you do the conclusions. Anybody who like suspense and historical events will love this book.
