Principal's Update

It's homecoming weekend a tradition that signified the return of the hometown alumni back to the community that they grew up in. The homecoming game ended up in a nail-biting 28-27 victory last night over Euclid as our Mustangs held on for the win.


With over 1300 students in an outdoor event we keeping our fingers crossed that the weather from last night is over and we have a pleasant evening. Kona Ice Truck will be there tonight and 1 shaved ice is included in the price for each ticket.

Senior Pictures (Yearbook and Retakes)

On Picture day there was a miscommunication about a feature that Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch offers for Seniors only. With the white slip that was given to Seniors, you will be able to view pictures and pick the picture for the yearbook (a feature not given in the past).


If you were in the “Senior” line or underclassmen line your picture will be in the Yearbook.


For those seniors who ordered online and who only took pictures in the Senior line (Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch). Prestige by Lifetouch will not honor those orders. So there are two options, you can 1) cancel the online order by contacting the customer service line for Lifetouch. That number is on your emailed receipt. Or 2) you can have your student take their picture on Picture Retake Day which is Tuesday, October 26 7:45am - 2:00 pm in the Media Center. There are about 80 seniors who are in this situation and they will be contacted by Mrs. Merrill via email.


We apologize for the miscommunication as we transitioned to Lifetouch this year and are adapting to the new ways we are doing pictures.


If you placed an online order and received your order, you do not have to order more from Prestige Portraits by Lifetouch. You can just choose the one for the yearbook.

We are proud of Mrs. Solecki (Art Teacher at Surrarrer), Mrs. Ganim (Art Teacher at SMS), Mr. Chidsey (Band Teacher at SMS, Chapman & Muraski), and Mr. Hire (Orchestra Teacher at SHS, Muraski, & Whitney) for their recent presentation on a Zoom meeting of the Cleveland Arts Education Consortium. The four SCS teachers detailed the significant impact that the arts have on our District and many of the great opportunities available to students in our District.

The Strongsville Athletic Boosters are selling raffle tickets to win a 2022 Chevy Trailblazer LS AWD donated by Serpentini Chevrolet of Strongsville. The vehicle is on display in front of the SCS bus lot on Pearl Road. Tickets may be purchased for $20 each. All proceeds benefit Strongsville Athletics. The raffle drawing will be held on December 3, 2021 at the Strongsville High School Boys Basketball Game. This year, a 2nd Place Prize of $500 and a 3rd Place Prize of $100 will also be awarded! The COVID-19 vaccination is a key to keeping Ohio’s students in the classroom, and that’s why the Ohio Department of Health has launched Ohio Vax-2-School. Ohioans between the ages of 12 and 25 who have received at least one dose of the COVID-19 vaccination have the chance to win one of 150 $10,000 scholarships and one of five $100,000 scholarships to an Ohio college or university for career or technical education. Financial Aid/FAFSA Meeting


All 12th grade students and families are encouraged to attend the virtual Financial Aid/FAFSA Presentation on Tuesday, October 5th at 6:00pm. Our presenter is from the office of Student Financial Aid & Scholarship at Tri-C. Here is a link to the virtual Financial Aid/FAFSA Presentation. We have had quite a few students leaving the building either on their own or leaving with a family member.


If a student is leaving the building for an appointment, sick, or for any other reason students should be checking out through the office or clinic. If a student does not feel well they need to go through the clinic and have them call the student out. If a student leaves early without following building protocols they will be marked unexcused.
