Religion
The children are keeping their promises of 'silent lunch' on Tuesday and Thursday, (fasting from loud talking). Wednesday is praying the Stations of the Cross and this week the boys are leading the prayer. Then on Fridays they bring in a non-perishable item for the food bin to give to the poor and homeless. Next week on a Monday; we will spend the first 15 minutes of Religion time to read a religious book, any story from the bible or about a saint.
Language Arts
I am revisiting writing in cursive, most especially their name.
3rd Grade is still reading The Lion, the Witch, and the Wardrobe. We say thank you to Mrs. Kristoff for bringing in some 'turkish delight' for the children to try. If your child has an allergy to nuts none was given.
4th Grade finish My Side of the Mountain and started reading Sounder. I am so proud of them when they ask about words that seem unfamiliar. It tells me they are listening and trying comprehend the story. And from there we increase our vocabulary.
Math
With the closing of the term, Mr. Ivan and I will switch groups. It is a wonderful thing when students learn that Math can be learned in two languages.
Thank you parents for supporting our school. We know that without it, we wouldn't be here. You are giving your children an education they will always use.
We give thanks to God daily and I thank you too.
Conferences are coming up. If you desire a conference please sign up and if Mr. ivan or I or both need to have a conference with you a note will be sent home.
