Paraprofessional Recognition Week

January 23-29, 2023 is Paraprofessional Recognition Week in Minnesota!

"The support and services provided by paraprofessionals are integral to student achievement, resulting in more effective and successful Minnesota schools. The State of Minnesota and the Minnesota Department of Education are committed to excellence in education and recognize the important role that paraprofessionals play in ensuring educational success." - Minnesota Department of Education

Here at CHPS, our Paraprofessionals hold the title of Education Assistants (EAs). Their work ensures students have access and support for their learning and is so important to the growth and success of our students. Thank you to our EAs for their thoughtful and caring work.

This will be an opportunity to learn about the history of the Scholastic Art Awards, regional scholarships and hear from artists in the community as we celebrate the awards.

Attendance Matters!!

Every winter, bad weather — snow, slush, freezing temperatures or even heavy rains — can present challenges to getting children to school. So do the illnesses such as colds, flu, fevers and earaches that often come with the winter months. Students might also have to stay home due to COVID-19.

What can parents/guardians do?

  • Develop back up plans for getting your children to school in bad weather
  • Keep your children healthy.
  • Keep your children engaged in learning if they cannot attend school in person.
