Rocky Creek Learning Commons
2nd Nine Weeks
2017-2018 GOALS- UPDATES
* In meeting with teachers and talking with the Innovation Ignitors group it was decided that Construction Junction and Tech Town should be repeated from last year. I also added October Origami and will look to have “Low Tech Tuesdays” In March and April.
* Every class in the school has been to a makerspace at least once.
* I received rave reviews from teachers and students for their time in Construction
Junction. The only complaint was that they could not stay longer.
* January will be Tech Town and will involve building motors, making a stop animation movie, and using the QuiverVision app to bring drawings to life.
Personal Professional Goal: To continue to build relationships with students and teachers by attending grade level planning weekly and observing individual teachers. All observations will be written up using the Notice and Wonder protocol.
* I have attended grade level planning and visited classrooms to observe almost every grade and Related Arts Teachers.
*I have continued to add to the Notice and Wonder Google Doc so Mrs. Nichols can see what I have been adding.
Both goals have been amended as of January 11, 2018 as the goals were either met or close to being met. I do not have the exact wording of the updated goals, but here is what I had written down:
Updated Learning Commons Goal: Add Curriculum/Content Standards to Makerspaces and continue to add to what is available year round for students to do.
Updated Personal Professional Goal: Still visit classroom to observe, but visit grade level planning for about 5-10 minutes a month to ask questions about what they need from me.

CELEBRATIONS
- I have learned a few things about what I need to do moving forward for making sure I have information I need earlier.
- Our book fair sold a record amount and will help add many, many items to the collection.
- Each teacher received at least 1 free book from the book fair.
- I gave away between 50 and 75 books to students during the book fair.
- I am visiting classrooms each week and am finding ways to help teachers in whatever capacity I can.
- We had a great kindergarten gingerbread man hunt during the last full week before winter break. While we did not catch him, fun was had by all, and cookies were enjoyed.
- Tech Town is being enjoyed by everyone who attends. The light saber simple circuits and Quiver 2-D to 3-D pictures are the favorites so far.
