Prairie Lakes AEA hosts second annual PLATE conference
Prairie Lakes AEA is hosting its second annual Prairie Lakes Assistive Technology in Education conference on Nov. 12 at Buena Vista University in Storm Lake.
The conference features local and national speakers that will provide strategies and information about assistive technology in education. Dakota Caldwell, a former Storm Lake student, will kick off the morning followed by Mike Marotta, has been the field of assistive technology for almost 30 years and his experience revolves around a vast array of accommodations for persons with disabilities and their family/support members.
There will be topics on how to access academics (reading, math, and writing), how to access environments and communication for our students.
Early bird registration is $50 per person until Oct 29. After that date, registration fee is $60 per person. Registration includes conference sessions and lunch.
One license renewal credit is available.
