Group Therapy for Children and Teens
Beginning in February, three Saturday group therapy sessions will be offered for children and teens who experience anxiety, ADHD, oppositional behavior or difficulties in social situations.
For Children and Teens with Social and Generalized Anxiety
This eight- to ten-week therapy group is designed for children and teens (ages 5-17) who are experiencing anxiety. The goal of this group is to provide cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) for children and teens who experience general worry and anxiety in social situations.
Group sessions focus on: Psycho-education, Relaxation techniques, Role play, Cognitive Restructuring, Problem Solving, Social Skills.
For Children and Teens with ADHD or Oppositional Behavior
This eight- to ten-week therapy group is designed for children and teens (ages 5-17) who struggle with ADHD or oppositional behavior. The goal of this group is to help children and teens who have difficulty paying attention and following rules.
Group sessions focus on: Developing management strategies to control impulses developing skills to increase, ability to follow rules, increasing ability to manage anger or other externalizing behavior.
For Children and Teens Who Struggle with Social Interactions
This eight- to ten-week therapy group is designed for children and teens (ages 5-17) who struggle in social situations. The goal of this group is to work with children and teens on coping with stresses related to social interaction with peers.
Group sessions focus on: Getting along with others, managing emotions in social situations, coping with various emotions, and problem solving.
Dates: Beginning Saturdays in February 2016. The exact start date will be set when the minimum of five enrollments is received.
