Gender Stereotype & Gender Role

The messages that these commercials send to developing children can form what these children think is right and wrong. If a boy is more feminine and wants to be a hairdresser but sees that a girl is on the box of the toy it can make their self esteem go down. On the flip side, if a girl sees a nerf gun with a girl and boy on the box cover it could make her confidence go up because it means it’s okay for her to like playing with the guns too. All of these toys/games are going to impact children from the start of their development and can make them start having stereotypes from an early age.
