Cathy Wylie
Cathy Wylie is a Chief Researcher at NZCER. She came to NZCER in 1987. Her previous experience includes lecturing in social anthropology at Victoria and Auckland universities, contract research with a range of government departments, and evaluation of social welfare programmes and policy at the then Department of Social Welfare.
Erica McWilliam
Professor Erica McWilliam’s career has covered nearly four decades as an Australian educator. She has taught in a wide range of school settings, from small regional schools to large urban schools, both in the government and non-government sectors, and has partnered Professor Peter Taylor in assisting schools to improve the quality of their leadership, teaching and learning. She now works as a Professor in the Centre for Research into Pedagogy and Practice at the National Institute of Education, Nanyang Technological University, Singapore. She also an Adjunct Professor in the Centre of Excellence in Creative Industries and Innovation at the Queensland University of Technology, Australia, and an Associate Fellow, Australian Learning and Teaching Council.
Susan Sandretto
I arrived in New Zealand in 1997 from California where I was a Spanish Immersion primaryschool teacher. I worked as a research assistant and guest lecturer at the University of Otago in the Faculty of Education and the Higher Education Development Centre from 1999. I completed my doctorate at Otago in 2004 and was appointed as a lecturer that same year. I am currently the Primary Programmes Coordinator. My research interests include multiliteracies, critical literacy, gender issues in education and practitioner research. I teach across the primary teacher education and education studies programmes and supervise at the postgraduate level.
