This Thursday, Rock Your Socks for World Down Syndrome Day

The “Rock Your Socks” campaign is a universal way to celebrate both World Down Syndrome Day and Down Syndrome Awareness. Twelve Bridges Elementary School is joining students around the world by Rockin’ Our Socks!!!” To participate, have your student wear bright, mismatched socks on March 21st. The day 3.21 signifies the extra, third copy of the 21st chromosome that individuals with Down Syndrome are born with. Why the bright, crazy socks? When someone asks why you are wearing crazy socks, you can reply “I am rocking my socks to spread Down syndrome awareness and acceptance.” We celebrate and embrace our differences…that aren’t so different.

Also, students will receive 3/21 removable tattoos to bring home on Tuesday or Wednesday. Students can wear those to school on Thursday if they want to show additional support for World Down Syndrome Day.

Student Visitors from Japan

Students from Japan were visiting the USA for a week. Some of them were staying with our TBE families while they were here. Our PTC president, Marnie Cassady, organized a time for them to visit campus. The students sang songs for Mrs. Davies's class, Mr. Swanson's class, and Mrs. Foote's class. They also did origami with Mrs. Davies's students and had the opportunity to play at recess. Thanks Marnie!

Check out our new mural that is under way on the outdoor stage!

Daddy/Daughter Dance Photos

Daddy/Daughter Dance Photos here!! Truly "A Night to Remember"!

Jaime, a Professional Photographer and TBES parent, graciously volunteered her time to take the photos she has so generously shared in this link. Enjoy scrolling through! We are truly appreciative of the many "couples" and fun she captured for us!

Vision Soccer Training

Skills After School is a fun after school club where participants learn all of the key skills required to be successful in the game of Soccer and Futsal directly after class at their school. The inclusion of speed, agility, quickness and balance activities not only help with Soccer and Futsal but are applicable to all sports.

Our highly experienced coaching team will come to your school and deliver fun training sessions which not only develop key Soccer and Futsal skills but also promote healthy physical activity and important social skills, such as team work and communication.

Skills After School Soccer and Futsal clubs offer participants:

  • Fun and active after school program
  • Players learn team work, improved coordination and develop an understanding of the game.
  • Learn key skills like passing, dribbling, shooting and change of direction.
  • This program is ideal for recreational or less experienced players.
  • We provide all necessary equipment.
  • A different individual skill taught each session.
  • All sessions are taught on school grounds.
  • Professionally trained / certified coaches.

Our program at Twelve Bridges will run on Monday March 18th, 25th, April 1st and April 8th - 1:45 - 2:45pm
