ELM MIDDLE SCHOOL’S WEEKLY NEWSLETTER
January 20, 2023
Principal's Message
Greetings Elm Families,
We hope everyone had a wonderful week! It was a busy one here, both our Boy's Basketball teams advanced to the LNAC tournament next week. We will have home games both Monday and Tuesday. Good luck, Cougars!
Thank you to everyone who came to support Elm Middle School at the Pack the Place. It was so amazing to see everyone come out!
Additionally, please take some time this weekend and talk with your students about their progress in their academic courses. As a reminder, 8th grade students who fail ELA or Math for two trimesters will not be allowed to walk in Graduation and will have to attend Summer School. 6th and 7th grade students receiving 1's for all three trimesters in ELA or math will also have to attend Summer School. Please reach out to our administrative team or teachers to ensure your student is on course for a successful end of the year.
Elm Middle School Parent Teacher Conferences are scheduled for February 15th and 16th, appointments will be open on February 1st. More details to come.
Please take a few minutes to read through this week’s Cougar Courier. As always, should you need anything, please don’t hesitate to reach out to me directly. Have a nice weekend! #TeamElmStrong
Most Sincerely,
Ms. Ashley Groeneveld
Assistant Principal's Corner
Our next Cougar Connections will be held 2/6/23. Student will be invited by their teachers to receive specific supports in a given subject area. Please note, attendance for invited students is mandatory. It is our hope that we can provide each learner with as much extra support as possible during the last half of the year.
If you have any question or concerns regarding your student's grades, please reach out to me to discuss possible interventions. Thank you all for your continued support.
Dean's Den
We are continuing to see students text or call their parents in the middle of the day to pick them up. As a reminder, if a student is not feeling well, they should see the nurse. From there, the nurse will make a determination on whether the student will need to go home or not. If student's are healthy enough to be in school, it is important that they stay and receive their instruction. We appreciate your support and understanding with this matter.
Thank you,
Mr. Goodman
